WEB New features in PHP6 and removing registere_globals

    They're also removing magic_quotes_gpc which was a disaster. Unicode support is very nice too, but I've stopped using PHP since.

    i just read that yesterday off reddit. no huge changes, which is fine by me; mostly just deprecating some old crap (such as register globals). added namespaces now too.

    Have to change all your ereg_* shit to preg_*. That's about the only thing that jumped out at me that I'll have to change in my code.

    I mean, what idiot still has shit that requires registered globals? /shudder

    Believe it or not, some ISPs actually have modified their php config to enable registered_globals. Not too long ago, actually, a friend of mine who posts here had a server that had it defaulty enabled :run:
