Picked me up a bushy today for $850
and here she is sitting next to my old ar
I always wanted rifles like that (and a few others ) but I don't have access to a range that allows rifles. The nearest ranges are too far away for me.
I want an AR for plinkin....
IF not an AR.. anyone suggest a reasonable priced rifle that could be taken to the range on occasion?
depends on how much you wanna spend.
I have seen olypmic arms AR-15 for $600 to military surplus rifles $80.. dont know what is good to just plink
wouldnt mind a AK-47 but the stock sites suck
I was gonna drive to WA and get a olympic arms for like $650 i think it was. but saving a few hundred was not worth the drive to WA to me
SKS if you want just a good ole plinking rifle that has potential for more.
The ammo is cheap too right? Are those .223?
The Oly arms AR Plinker is a pretty decent rifle. They recently switched to a forged upper and lower receiver, before I believe they were cast (supposedly not as durable). Coming from a Bushmaster owner, I would not hesitate to buy an Oly Arms plinker for having fun with.
SKS is 7.62x39. Or at least the ones I've encountered. Like the .223, that ammo is easily available from local gun stores. Also a lot of surplus ammo available for it as well so it's just as cheap.
SKS and the AK is my idea of a cheap plinker. Of course there is always the .22 rifle. Can't beat 500 rds for $7...
