don't bother being nice. I'm playing around with Nik Software, and edited all of these using different tools in the suite. Just want to know what you like, don't like, etc...

Feel free to give me some feedback on the shots too!

I think I need to tone down the sharpening on all of these... they're 'sharpened for output', and i'm thinking that doesn't translate well to the internets...

is #1 like a metal garage door or something? like to a storage shed? that clashes hard in B&W

yeah, something like that. I forget exactly what it was... The wedding party walked from the church to the reception site, and they stopped for a minute while we were waiting for someone... I thought the vertical lines were pretty cool...

Here's the original, without any sharpening... Any better? worse? I don't think I like the Nik Sharpener tool...

ok this might sound funny and you'll probably laugh

but the sharpened one looks like the couple could walk away and there is a perfect police drawing off them. the 2nd one actually looks like a background with the white lines continuing behind them.

    does that make sense?

in any case 2 > 1 for that. 1's background is too harsh and takes away from the couple

has nothing to do with sharpening.... but i hate the framing on #3. tell me what you think

i feel the pic should be either closer or further way. the people are slightly off center... but not far enough right. the flowers are unequally cut off.

    what do you think?

interested to view the pics/sharpening at home with my desktop and a bigger monitor.

    2 is gorgeous

    4 is awww

5 is a happy pic. so nice man

I guess different preferences for different people. I'm digging the sharpness. :dunno: But now that it was mentioned, the background could take away from the subject.
