Finally got it completed. Got good deals on all the stuff and it blends well so here's the setup. It was all cheap

Panasonic Receiver 5.1 (all i need) Digital and DTS 100x5
    Infinity Alpha center
Infinity SL-30 fronts (bookshelf, dual ports, 6 1/2 woofers)
    Harman Kardon HKB4 rears (4 1/2 woofers)
    JBL northridge e250p subwoofer.

got all the stuff cheap and it's designed to be a compact system. All bookshelves. My old system was full towers in front and in back with a crappy center channel but it worked :o

besides the subwoofer it doesn't cause any disturbance. I live in the 'party' dorm so it's always loud. The sub can be heard through the whole building though so i only crank it to annoy people. Usual listening volume can only be heard outside the door and by neighbors if it's too loud. Walls are thicker than you'd think
