savages are VERY NICE, especially for the money. You get synthetic? Their synthetics are so perfectly balanced.. but synthetic = more recoil

ugh... why does everyone think they need some giant rifle for deer... Are you taking them out at 700 yards?

A nice .30-30 or a 30.06 is more than enough to take out a deer...

a 7mm Mag isn't THAT bad for deer, it's not like he got a .338 Win Mag or something. I know alot of people who use 7mm Mag.

Does your Savage have an Accu-Trigger?

i did get the synthetic, 7mm isn't bad at all for deer. i plan on using it for elk when i can also. yeah shells are kind of on the expensive side but meh, oh well. i wish it had the accu-trigger, trigger pull on it now is a lil stiff but nice and crisp. might see what i can't do about that.
I mainly bought the 7mm so that i can hunt more open fields at long range, i have a marlin 30-30 that i use when i'm in the brush. it was my first deer rifle.
