I didn't get any real responses in the main forum so I thought I would post here. This thing looks amazing for people that don't want to use up a lot of room or have small cars. I am planning to install them in my car along with their component set...can anyone say 4 ohm Extremis?!

http://www.mpyreaudio.com click on products then 65X

The specs look unreal, i mean 14mm XMAX and an FS of 25.7hz that should pound! Anyone else have any thoughts? They are made by Adire according to posts on other boards. TIA

Never mind I see where I went wrong. for a 6.5 that looks pretty good. I see they are using xbl^2 technology.(licensed by adire) My atlas subs use that tech. great sound and get very loud.

except for the fact when you look at their components they claim they are the 'best on the market' sounds a bit lofty to me but they look nice...

How do you think they would compare to the eD EU-700?

These are the T/S parameters I found for them:

    re 3.2
    fs - 28hz
    bl - 13.3 TM
    qms - 10.5
    qts - .29
    qes -.3
    vas - 22 L
    xmax - 13mm
    spl- 85dB

Click here for my video :)

Isn't Adire a good company for making performance speakers, I don't see what issue there is if the product is good?

The ED are pretty good subs IMO although I don't think they really compare. From what I have heard the excursion on the Mpyres is 19mm for XMAX using standard measurements...the 14mm quoted on the website is the Klippel measurement. I also think the Mpyres look better, I hate stamped baskets :greddy: and I am sure they cost a little more to produce. I think that the extra performance is worth the price, but if budget is a concern then the ED or Tang Bands are good bets...I just want the best!

In general, Adire is a good company that makes quality products...

I'm just saying, seems like anyone with some money can just walk into a buildhouse and get a speaker made now-a-days... what does it look similar too? ;)... Just modifying an existing product...

According to the website, the mid is based off of the Extremis only for car use (4 ohm)...the sub is a different animal. I haven't seen anything like it. Here are the pics of it.

    Indeed.

14mm Xmax is solid. Should perform well, I'm not knocking them at all... I personally would just like to see them develop as a company a little more first... and I'm also VERY wairy of pre-orders... :(

So, without people like yourself... who might be willing to try out a brand new product... I guess they wouldn't develop much. So go for it! ;)
