For the last 3 or so months I've been very patiently waiting for the Xperia X1 and the HTC Touch Pro to come out so I could decide which I would get. Then this bombshell drops: http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/08/15/technology/15google.php and now I don't know what to do :wtc:

When it comes to a local store I'm guna go play with it. I've actually built a few apps for android already (RSS reader stuff mostly) and I stopped because of sdk issues and I didn't particularly like the first edition they released but the new videos of it are looking /good/

i'm gonna jump on the HTC G1 presale for t-mo on Sept 17th. special pricing and early release for current t-mo customers speculated at $149 with a 2-year renewal. for that price and feature set, i owe it to myself to try it out blindly, although it's gonna be tough to outdo my blackberry.

now that i'm seeing the pics of this phone i'm actually kind of disappointed in the hardware. i like the sliding keyboard and stuff, but overall it just looks kind of cheap. if you compare it to current options from Apple and RIM, they've obviously put in a lot of thought to the design aspect. this phone just doesn't seem to have any sexiness to it. so, it seems like a phone that'll be interesting only to the geek crowd.

Yea, I just can't fathom how HTC, the maker of he Wizard, the touch, touch pro, and the Xperia X1 came out with such a clunky, horrible lookng phone. I'll probably get it anyway, but after hearing that the 3g is only half (3.6mbps not 7.2mbps) I'm not sure...
