I just recently got into this, I picked up a cheapo canon powershot 610 and already wishing I just spent the extra money for atleast a rebel, but it'll do for now

Playing around with the macro setting, trying to work on my DOF. Also a couple grainy night shots :mamoru:

how far away from the lizard were you in the first shot? would have to be like an inch to get that much blur??

night shots are VERY noisy, esp. the car one. See if you can lock the ISO to one of the lower settings and keep the shutter open longer (this may not help with a p+s though because i think they are mostly just noisy over long exposures :dunno:)

I was within a foot, the background is pretty distant. I cranked the ISO to 400 on the car shot, I beleive it was 200 on the dock shot. Shutter was 15s in both
