I had the Olympus C5050, and I cracked the LCD & got a splash of soda on the zoom button, and Olympus won't fix it (not even for $280). Honestly, some tech is just too fucking lazy - cause they've fixed the sticky zoom button problem once before. :madfawk:

What I'd like, in order of priorities:

    1. >5 MP
    2. $280 - $350
    3. SD Card Compatability
    4. Possibility of AA Batteries, or relatively cheap batteries.
    5. Professional "SLR" look :mamoru:. Not looking for it to fit in my pocket.

    I'm considering:

    1. Olympus' SP-500, although it only takes xD cards :squint: [Amazon Link]
    2. Panasonic's Lumix DMC-FC20K, but it's only 5 MP :hs: [Amazon Link]

I have absolutely no problem going with a slightly older camera if it's packed with cool features (and it's still available new somewhere online).

Any and all input is greatly appreciated. Is Panasonic any good? :noes:

Someday. Right now it's way too much $$, and I have absolutely no SLR experience... so I'd rather get a Semi-Pro Digital, than buy an SLR and be clueless.

Maybe you can clue me in as to what the major advantages are to SLR as opposed to a regular Digital :dunno:
