new blazer...comments?

    not bad... you won't have as many issues since it's 2wd. my only suggestion would be to buy a pickle fork so you can change the idler arm yourself when the warrenty runs out. for some reason GM midsize trucks go through them quickly.

    have fun with 12 MPG. Those 4.3L eat gas like a V8. I am a chevy truck guy, but I would NEVER own a Blazer again

    :rolleyes: we get 22mpg in our 2wd sonoma. my ZR2 gets about 15-18 depending on how I've been driving and that's with steel wheels and MT tires.

    damn, i was afraid of that...

    what are some ways to get better gas mileage out of this thing?

    Needs a mild drop stat.

    As for getting better mileage, good luck, the 4.3 isn't going to be much help at all. Aside from intake and maybe exhaust you won't find too much else, but mods don't do much if any at all. Just watch your foot, try to keep it below 2k, and it may sound stupid but keep the tire preasure in check.

    My blazer that was always well in tune, and kept up in maintnence never got above 14.

    With it being a 2WD you don't need to worry about the electronic transfer case going out on you, so that saves you about $500.
