The old gas block and FH was a bitch to get off, but the system itself took about 5mins to install. Feels pretty solid and adds just a bit of weight to the front end. Going to take it to the range tomorrow. :naughty:

I've been watching that. Looks kinda interesting to me.

My only bitch is that it's not really very low-profile. Do you know if they ever made one to work under a PRI forend?

Now you gotta shoot the fuck outta it, and let us know what's the word.

I still do not understand the attraction to this, unless you shoot a shit ton of full auto...

I'm wanting a 16/17" full rifle length gas system, lightweight gun, with a heavy buffer and lightened carrier, dick for recoil, and the ability to run with a can on in some decent temperature swings.

I'm thinking that a piston setup might do well in that realm, and it being able to go further without cleaning certainly doesn't hurt my feelings any.

The above might be able to be achieved through a traditional DI gun, and a builder who knows what's up; I dunno. I just thought that it seemed like an interesting piece of kit, and was interested in watching how it panned out.

Finally was able to get out to the range with this earlier today. I love it. Before I went, I completely cleaned out the upper and lower, BCG, etc... just to see how clean it would stay.

I was amazed - after one 30 round mag, shot round after round, the BCG wasn't hot though the bolt was a little warm but not hot by any means. Did I mention it was clean as hell? Looked like I didn't fire at all. I took it apart and the FP was all nice and shiny.

As for firing characteristics, you could notice a difference from the first round to the last out of the 210 I brought with me. There's a noticeable decrease in recoil and muzzle climb. Overall, it just feels more 'solid' firing it over the DI system - beats me as to why, probably because that's my subconscious trying to justify the $400 price tag.

Forgot to mention that I didn't have a single problem with the system itself, except when the piston was on the full-gas setting. Shells were being ejected with to much force and landing in the 1~2 o'clock area. Once I switched it to half-gas, they went back to the normal 4 o'clock.

Shooting a piston upper suppressed is nice. Less gas in your face.
