Can someone explain why my iPod will not connect through it but my camera will?

Is the iPod not powered by its own battery when connected to the computer like the camera?

It doesn't shut down. Just turns the iPod on and I can use it like it isn't connected at all.

I tried that. It doesn't. So just my camera then. Riiiiiiite.

they're not powered ports... so any device that tries to get power over USB is not gonna like it.

the keyboard USB's are for wired USB mice and the like. I use the ports for my USB light.

on a side note... I much prefer my last-gen apple keyboard to the new one.

When I'm at a desk I don't want to feel like I'm still using a laptop.

They do. It's rather convenient, actually, to use them (it -- a mouse is plugged in to the other port) for flash drives.

    are they usb 2.0?

the ones on the prev-gen keyboards (which is honestly a better keyboard) are only 1.1, unfortunatly.

I just wanted to say that I want to have sex w/ the new keyboard. I used it at the apple store, and I fell in love. IDK, its just so comfortable and easy to type on. I barely made any mistakes while typing on it.

Yeah it's nice, most people i've given these as replacements to (when they've spilt shit on theirs) have liked them.

I've got one for my mac at home and also use one on my PC :o

Yea your return button looks dif. then mine too weird, i didn't know they changed them. I bought this keyboard because I liked how easy it was to clean, but I found out the hard way the new keyboards don't recognize anything when you first start your mac up. (Holding C should have the computer boot from the CD drive) (Holding the mouse button down should Eject a CD) .. Holding the Option button should have the option between Mac and PC if you have Bootcamp installed. It sucks because my Mac crashed a few nights ago and I had to find another USB keyboard to get it to work. I should have saved the older iMac keyboard I had.. ah well.

But yea I have come to notice a lot of things don't work with the USB on the keyboard. But it works great for the mouse and my external hard drive.

thats a shame... I use the prev-gen keyboard and I love it. I just wish it were USB 2.0.

I really don't want to upgrade because I tried the new one and I felt the sacrificed function for form.
