GUN New addition + pics (FN Five-Seven)

Discussion in 'On Topic' started by Whitey McCracken, Jun 12, 2004.

  1. I just picked her up today from a friend of mine at a local gun shop for a discounted price ;). Despite what some members said about the gun, it has a nice feel to it. The grip actually feels ergonomic, and it's easy to disassemble. Also, the slide release isn't as bad as some described it to be. In fact, it's harder to release the slide on my russian Makarov. I should have some 20rd mags in no time. I had my buddy order some ammo for me as well. $15 per 100rds... not too shabby.

I love the way they feel. Would definitely buy one if I had an extra $800 to throw away.

the round is very good at piercing armor, bullets are designed to "tumble" through the body

what that thing in the middle of the case.. silencer?

  10. It's actually a cleaning kit with brass rods, brush, and some other shit. I only paid $400.00 for the gun so I don't really feel bad about buying it. I heard that hollow points won't do jack shit against body armor, but I have some FMJ being shipped to my dealer for cheap. We'll see how those do next weekend.

$15 for 100 rds is more expensive than 9mm ammo at Walmart

It uses a relatively new cartridge thats necked, of course its going to cost more than 9mm.

  16. It's not a 9mm, is it?

    I didn't buy the gun because the ammo is cheap and easy to find. I already have 9mm's, 40's, 7.62x25, 8mm, 7.62x39, 7.62x54r, 22's, 223, 9x18, 12ga, and 45. I bought the gun because I got a smoking deal and it's different.

just don't use it for defense if you can ever use anything else. the round that you can purchase over the counter is NOT the one that FN says does wild, crazy, angry polar bear-killing damage. and even THAT round doesn't do that.

They could sell the gun, they just couldnt' sell the ammo because it was AP. Now theres civi ammo though.

Did I hear that correctly? 100rds for $15? Seems a LOT cheaper then I remember it being.

Did you read where he said that he got the ammo drastically below cost? Guess not.

  21. The markings on one side say FNH USA, Fredericksburg, VA. On the other side is FN Herstal, Belgium. Maybe it was made in Belgium and then imported to Virginia? Hell, I dunno. I'll have some ammo this week so I'll post back with the details.
