ok, here is the deal. went to the Audi dealer this weekend. I test drove an A3 and it was marvelous! I do love those hatchbacks...

so the choice for me would either be:

new '05 A3 2.0T, sport pack, bose audio, xenon lights.. was quoted about 27.5K @ 4.9%

    or

slightly used '04 A4 1.8T Quattro (carmax has them for about the same price as a new A3)

I'm torn here. The A4 has always been a favorite car of mine, but the A3 was sweet car. comments?

    crap! :o

A3 is a hatch, so does it really have that much less space?

Also, how reliable are the new Audis? My brother's '99 1.8T A4 doesn't even have 80,000 miles and already the engine was killed by a broken timing belt.

the 2.0 is leaps and bounds better than the 1.8t.

I took a couple classes on the new A3 at the Audi Tech School in Ontario. Very Sophisticated little car. Everything, I mean everything is connected into one nice system. Love the FSI. 2.0t is STRONG. A3.

I drove both over the summer, and I absolutley fell in love with the A3. I ended up leaving with an Allroad, which is pretty nice anyways, but not what I really wanted. My mom wanted something that she thought looked safe.... boo.
