God damn I love this thing.
Gonna be picking one up this summer. It'll be the first mac I've owned myself. Use them all the time at uni and for our newspaper.
I'm also getting one in September... Once I sell my current macbook, and the iPod touch I get with teh educator discount, the upgrade should only cost a few hundred...
same as a unibody macbook?
have you seen what a macbook looks like in the past 3 years?
same thing... just .1ish of an inch less in thickness...
and made of metal...
thread is worthless without pics
Fuck I just noticed some vibration sound coming from the left speaker. I don't think it's supposed to sound like that.
worthless thread is worthless
Just got mine today-this thing is great.
Sending mine back to Apple. They are sending a another one.
Why are you sending it back?
I'm on my 13" unibody MB... wish it was the MBP though. How does the screen look? I hear it's much better quality than the Late 08 unibody MacBooks.
Oh it's an awesome machine, but my left speaker sounded funky. They are shipping me another one.
love my metal macbook also. sweet unit.
In the last year or so, most people i know are getting one, which is awesome, dont need to carry a charger when I go out, someone is bound to have one.
This is what I'm doing. I'm selling my MBP (non-unibody) and then upgrading to this, hoping that the education discount and selling the iPod Touch will offset the costs.
If you don't mind me asking which configuration did you get?
I'm trying to decide if the $300 to go from 2.26GHz to 2.53GHz is worth it. The extra ram can be had for around $80 and a 320GB hard drive (which is larger than the 2.53GHz version) is around $90ish.
Does replacing your own hard drive void the warranty/AppleCare, and actually with the new built in batteries does upgrading your own ram void the warranty too?
My 15" MBP just arrived today. 2.8, 4 gig ram, 500 gig HD. Its a pretty sweet machine. I just loaded xp with Boot camp. I also got a free 8 gig touch.
I will be getting a 13" MBP as soon as the exchange on base gets them. I'm sure the unibody MB will be deeply discounted too. Last time I checked, they had a whole bunch of them. Macbooks have been selling pretty well at the military exchanges from what I have seen. Tax free ftw.
I upgraded two weeks before WWDC thinking that the only they were going to be doing was introducing new iphones and 3.0... really screwed me over, I still love it though. I have to go back to best buy and get my $500 back... at least I have that benefit to look forward to.
like everything else, no and no, unless you fuck something up in the process.
i dont see much of a difference between the 13in mbp and 13mp... the specs look identical besides the proc speed.
I really want to get the new 13" macbook pro. I have a 13" unibody macbook from just a couple months ago. Now i'm angry bc the 1199$ model comes with backlit keys! And a SD slot. And god knows what else, slightly faster CPU.
a higher quality display too
hm are you sure? Whats the difference?
don't forget better battery life as well
Thought about getting mine on base, but the 18 months no interest at Best Buy was more worth it to me. Gonna get paid off once I start school with the new GI bill.
