Optimum's Sealant X is supposed to be a lifetime sealant. Talked to Dr. G about it when I was in Memphis and he says it blows away anything currently on the market. It is actually a coating with a ton of UV protection.

Okay, so it's a sealant and UV blocker (both good things), but does it do the same thing that a traditional carnauba wax does? Or would you still have to wax your car after applying it?

Lifetime protectant. You could wax over it if you wish, but it isn't necessary if what I am hearing is correct.

Hmm...maybe I should test it on my Passat. It hasn't been waxed since God-knows-when.

Not out yet and it won't be cheap. $90 for 2 oz last I heard. Nothing is set in stone though.

crazy stuff.. certainly an attractive idea but a good wax job leaves you admiring your car for weeks. I had a few water drops on mine the other day and brushed at it with my sleeve, and next time dew formed on the car you could see where i had touched it. now that's clean :bigthumb:

Lol yeah I have heard other claims about Optimum and products and have never been impressed with anything other than ONR.

OS blows away ZCS, and it isn't even close.

I've never used any current Optimum x formulation so I have no idea how well it works.

Looks wise I will agree after doing more testing. Longevity ZCS is much better IMO.

Longest I had all three WOWO sealant side by side for durability testing, at the three month point, the owner of the car sold it. All three were holding up fine. No doubt ZCS has good durability, but Z8 adds so much more to the look and applying it every few weeks isn't a big deal.

LOL every three weeks? I put it on every time I quick detail the car. Why? Because I can.

I typically put OCW, OS or CMW on my car nearly every time I wash it. Absolutely sick depth. :)

Ryan, if i would have known you didnt have any, i would have sent you a sample with the last batch I sent you.

    Scott,
I know at one point there were talking about giving a class to people who purchased it or have they changed that now?

Sorry Heath, I already feel guilty from how nice you have been to me about sending samples. I feel like I should owe you like $50!

I really gotta get my hands on some OCW and try it out, everyone talks about it. Hopefully this fall when I need to order again.
