My buddy has never lifted before and pullled 455 his first time ever doing a deadlift. He didnt even know what the fuck one was. He rides moto-cross and does tuff man fights but never trains with weights. I dunno, I was impressed.

I'd be willing to bet most manual laborers could deadlift a lot more than the average guy. When I worked as a mover there were old guys there who weren't that big but could effortlessly pick up heavy shit all day that I'd struggle with.

I remember my first deadlift ... though my glutes were going to rip off! That was around 260's, props on 455. I bet manual labour helps a lot.

that's pretty fucking good. Considering I've been getting my deadlift stronger for 2 years and now I probably max the same as this guy who just tried it :o

Very true. I work in a warehouse mostly doing shipping but there is a frequent amount of stocking heavy boxes of tile and my coworkers never work out and smoke tons of cigarettes, eat junk food, etc... but they're strong as fuck from lifting boxes, pushing and pulling heavy pallets up ramps, etc.

we been working out of town so he's been training with me. He's Got strong legs too; he can do 365x4. He rode pro moto-cross for a while and still races pro-am, I think all thoes years of riding just build him a strong core and legs. Crazy though.

That's impressive. How was his form?

You should get him lifting more. If he actually practices the movement, learns good form, and trains heavy he could be pulling 600 in 18 months or less.
