I have a file server setup running xp which serves several other computers on the network in the workgroup mshome via a wireless router. The Folder Shares are password protected however on the remote machines I am asked one time for the user name and password. After that it is remembered forever, you can reboot, logoff, etc.

Is there any way to set it up so a user name and password have to be entered every time?

Use net use commands as opposed to adding shares via explorer, and you'll have to use the /savecred /persistent commands to store the connection/password information as opposed to typing it in everytime the systems logged off.

    net use x: //192.168.2.1 username:administrator password:bobdole /savecred /persistent:yes

    or, in your case

    net use x: //192.168.2.1 /persistent:yes

I'll have to give this a shot, so do I need to make a script that runs at startup on the server or will these shares be saved even after a reboot?
