network setup

    Hey guys, i got my self a wireless ethernet for my laptop, and was wondering if i got a wireless pci card for my pc, would i be able to share the net.

    My pc already has a network card, so if i install a wireless pci, would it work ?

    I dont really wanna go out and buy a wireless router cause they are to expensive and the way its set up now is ok :)

    Yes it would work, but what's the point? Wireless routers are pretty cheap now and you can probably get one for $50. If you are not going to buy a router, why not save the money on getting the other wireless NIC too and just use a crossover cable to connect both?

    Wireless NICs and routers are about the same price aren't they?

    Yeah wifi routers and PCI adpaters are the same price. Plus, if you're being charged for two IP addresses now you might be able to save money by using just one. It will also be more reliable than sharing it through your computer.

    WTF!! they are the same as a wireless router ??

    Well, shit i might as well buy a wireless router since i will have more control over it anyways.

    As for the charge per IP, luckily my isp lets me connect as much pc's as i want :)
