I was just wondering if any of you guys had any nervous habits that tend to come out when you're in a weird or uncomfortable situation: like getting news you don't want to hear.

I just cleaned my entire kitchen, including polishing the faucet, while my bro was over to pick something up and he was telling me some problem he's having :noes:

If I'm in an uncomfortable situation I fidgit horribly!! If I'm sitting down my leg swings back and forth, non-stop. I mess with my hair and constantly touch my ears, stuff like that.

it was pointed out to me that I wink or, twitch my right eye without even noticing it... people seem to get weirded out when they are winked at continuously :hsugh: :mamoru:

Also, I sweat a lot as it is, and I sweat even more depending on the "newness" of the situation, if that makes sense. I have others too im sure - but they havent been pointed out to me, or I havent noticed them yet. :x:

...no. Unless you include social artistry, as I occasionally rely on that when I'm uncomfortable. Or is that more a DM, I wonder (Ferron)? If so, and if we're talking about those, I have loads of them. :coolugh:

I usually clean stuff too, or if I'm sitting I constantly "jiggle" my leg too....and the worst, I start to stutter if I get pushed towards the edge...something usually brings me to the other side of the line where I just don't measure what I say :hs:

But yeah, you could think those reactions are part of a denial system.

For those that bite your nails: stop biting them one by one, I wasn't a bad case, only a few ppl noticed it but once I saw how clean and professional my hands look when the nails are perfectly trimmed I never went back at it.

    Self image > self destruction.

mine never got that bad but now they are stupidly clean, the lady that did a manicure on them last week told me that I was lucky to stop early, sometimes it's too late to stop and your fingers would look bad for the rest of your life.

I used to do that too.

I overcame that by taking deep breaths and calming my body down. My stuttering problem is directly linked to the air in my lungs (sounds like the same with you).

So, you can overcome that if you consciously make yourself inhale before you speak...

    That's what I do
