I had to have it installed at the end. the cable that the pompany sent to me had a live wire that needed to be spliced into another live wire. Overall, the person that did the install took less than 15 min to complete the whole procedure. The sound on my truck is now supremely perfect. no more of that hissing i used get when using the cassette adapter or the FM adapter.

if anyone wants CD quality sound out of the speakers from the ipod
    GET THE NEO ION

Do you have a mount that you place the iPod into? I'm looking into getting the NEO, but I'm trying to figure out a good way to just slide the iPod into a mount of some kind...preferably close to the head unit.
