I like how the officer was carrying a "model 1991 A-1 compact .45 caliber semiautomatic pistol (Colt's Manufacturing, Hartford, CT)." :rly:

wow the MRI managed to fire a 1991 in the cocked and locked position and the spent casing was still in the chamber. Pretty impressive to see that the MRI managed to yank the pull the gun and firing pin fast enough that when the gun shopped the firing pin had enough force to set off the round.

Let this be another warning the best safety is still the one between your ears.

LOL... I so thought the same thing. Just didn't want to be the first one to say it. Instead, I had to be even more stupid and comment on the gun he DID have, and of course be wrong about it. :ugh2:

Glock wouldn't have gotten sucked in by the machine since it's made of plastic

I carried a Benchmade Stryker in one, once. It was clipped to my boxers. :o

 That's hilarious because I am familiar with MRIs *and* 1911s. (And by extension, 1991s.)

I was gonna ask (at first) if it was a Series 80, but they covered the firing pin block in the article. :bowrofl:

probably close to the same look on my face today when one of those damned machines started tugging on my belt which I forgot to take off beforehand.

MRIs are freaking awesome. Bring a keychain in sometime and hold onto (one key, firmly) - you can watch the keys follow the field lines around. :coold:

I'd rather not have to go back there. once is enough for one lifetime.

that almost stole my belt. and the average MRI goer doesn't go there one a whim. I'm having knee problems that caused me to have to pay them a visit after it was recommended by my primary care physician. i typically would associate an MRI visit with a serious injury. I don't think, "What can I fuck up this time to repeat the joyous experience of having a very expensive image taken to see what a doctor gets to do to me next?"

I had once before I got knee surgery, the only one they had available was the open one for claustrophobic people. Took twice as long as it normally would and sucked.
