today, i accomplish my goal of doing 315lb sumo DL today max. but i really need to work on grip, i was probably struggling more on trying to hold the bar than lifting it.

    suggestions?
i saw that other thread with that hand grips, would those help me out in this case? and where can i buy them locally? big-5? sportmart?

coc's aren't really the best thing in the world for improving supporting strength, look into making some rotating fat handles (pipe) for farmers walks, learn to hook grip, work on the thumb strength (titans telegraph from Iron Mind) buy Brookefield's Mastery of Hand strength.....or just start working on timed holds

any of the above will help

Yeah I can hold heavy ass DL's just fine but I suck at CoC's. Check the grip thread in the archives.

The fastest way to increase your grip is to get some chalk. That is, if your gym allows it. If not, then fuck your gym. (Don't literally try to fuck your gym, I tried that once and the results were not pretty).

gym allows chaulk, but it sure does leave a mess.

are straps consider a cheat move? like gloves? i use gloves, but no straps.

today was the first time i did timed holds with alternating with my forearms. ill be doing more of those for sure.

i googled CoC, now where can i locally purchase one of these or something similar? i definately want the trainer model. is CoC a brand or just what there called in general?

gloves usually hurt my grip more than anything else

i think straps are fine though :dunno:

    edit: CoC is a brand

you can buy heavygrips on ebay for cheap :bigthumb:

theyre pretty self explanatory......put the strap through the loop....wrap on the bar the opposite direction your fingers grasp the bar...grab the strap.

If standard chalk is too messy for you, try liquid chalk. I just bought some from elitefts because I didn't want to make a mess at the gym. You just spray it on your hands and rub your hands together until the liquid evaporates and it leaves your hands "tacky".
