Okay, I've done some googling, but haven't really turned anything up...

A lot of computers used on various field machines still use PCMCIA slots, exclusively, for memory. We use some PCMCIA memory cards, and some PCMCIA->CF adaptors, but those have the CF cards taped in, to keep everything together, so it would be an inconvenience to have to remove them and use a CF card reader.

With many new laptops coming without PCMCIA slots, not to mention that it would be nice to work with files on desktops, I need some kind of a drive that will read PC cards and plug into a USB port. Is there anything like this that exists, for a reasonable price?

Fucking  I dunno why I couldn't find this; just ran out of patience sorting through USB adaptors to fit into PC card slots, I guess. Thanks so much!
