need the best card for 8x agp... suggest?

    i bought socket 478 not thinking about pci express.... oops.... so i gotta make the best of it... whats the best 8x card i can get?

    and any suggestions for a mobo?

    6600GT cannot be beat for the money. Nothing that the 6800GT does can't be done by the 6600GT, and at half the cost. And the current ATi offerings are really lame compared to the nVidia 6-series.

    x series are for ,PCI-Express i thought? But I would suggest the 6600GT like the guy above said, it will hold out nicely until PCI-express takes over, and prices lower...

    The X800 has an AGP version.

    So it does, but is it really worth the cost when a few years from now PCI-express will be the mainstream..

    I don't think so... 6600GT performs very well for it's cost.

    i still dont see how the x800 pro can be beat....i mean if you get one with VIVO you can flash the bios to that of a x800 XT PE opening 4 pipelines for ez OCing...its a $550 card for 400 bux....
