Just received my D50 (yeah, yeah POS, should have gotten XXXX) and headed out to a local car show BBQ. Snapped a picture of my car and was just wondering if there is anything you guys can see wrong with it, or anything I can do to enhance it (using ps). I am decent with PS, but mainly with designing graphics, not post production with photos (yeah, I'm new),

    All I did was resize:

not a great way to get any help. this forum doesn't move the the main forum.

what do you want help with? If you shot with a polarizing filter then it would take some of the reflections off of the car and deepen the intensity of the colors, especially the sky, and reduce the overall contrast. thats someting that can't be done after the shot is taken to the easy and quality it can be done in front of the lens

I would suggest to start saving for a better lens. The corner sharpness is awful on that

I'm a PS noob - how'd you get the clouds to be more gray and added more contrast to the blue skies?

    1. frame/crop your subject better
    2. get some different tires...those tires suck!
    3. lighting is key, get that down
    4. polarizer would have come in very handy.

Oh, I am not going to lie, I am a 100% complete noob when it comes to photography, I just got my D50 (with the lens kit:( ) just to try out and get used to it, then i plan on moving up to a better lens as I progress.

Viper, I have no idea how you did that, care to go more in depth that "
all i did was some shadow highlight the fuck out of it
" ? :) Any information would be greatly appriciated, or larger res :).

    Pechango,
I just read what a polarizer does yesterday (a little bit late). Leave my awesome Hankook tires alone. They actually grip quite well.

that's all you did? I did that and got a similar sky but the car color wasn't nearly as vibrant as yours :hs:

edit: maybe it's just the resize
