I have finally decided to retire my ancient 17in NEC crt so I am looking for a widescreen lcd in the 20-22in range for $200-250. Id like to avoid good prices via good rebates because I hate waiting.

now i can pick up a Viewsonic 2026w for $209 via work but I would like to know of any other good options before i go and pull the trigger

Viewsonic used to be the cats ass, but now they're just meh for the money.

This is the hottest deal that I know of right now.

Acer AL2216Wbd 22" for $199 shipped. They're out of stock on them, but Newegg gets stuff in fast.
    Probably by Monday or Tuesday.

    Get the Acer 22"

You can find them brand new on eBay for $180-190 shipped.

Best looking monitors as well IMO.. very thin bezel, thin construction. The only thing that I don't like is that the height is not adjustable on the stand. (just the tilt)

Oh well, it looks like that must have been a weekend deal.

Well Christmas being next week, I bet there's going to be more deals like that this coming weekend.

I dunno about you, but my cat's butt smells like shit, so that's not much of a plug for Viewsonic, new or old.

Yes, I just said butt and plug in the same sentence.
