I'm trying to run HLDS (half life dedicated server) using SecureCRT, but I can't find a way for the server to run in the background. I start it from console, and even if I append & at the end, it will still run in the foreground. This is keeping me from letting the server run 24/7, because everytime I close the SSH connection, the server dies

    Help :x:

Have you tried running it with nohup.. That way if you do a 'nohup HLDS &' that will make it run in the background and if you close the session it will still run..
