He wasn't at home and couldn't remember brand off the top of his head. He said he bought it at academy and he thinks its APEX or something like that.

you are prolly better off buying less machines and more free wieghts. honestly. this is better

Get a bench. Flat or adjustable bench press. get free weights, then get a curl bar that can use those free weights. and if you really want get a dumbell bar that can use those freeweigthts. you will get a better workout if you make the effort to find excercises you can do with those weights than use the obvious excercises associated with cable machiens.

machines only allow linear movement, whereas dumbells and barbells strengthen stabilizer muscles. Because you have to hold the stuff straight. not just push up or pull down. instead with DBs and BBs you get to push up and balance it

I went friday to sign up at the only gym in town and I couldn't do it. Was like 99% tredmills and bikes. They had like 5 free weight machines and 1 squat rack. plus they wanted damn near 60 bucks a month. fuck that. its like a soccer mom gym.

its benches not machines. Did you click the link? 300 # of weight 45 # bar etc. All I would need I think is a rack of some sort for my other 45 # bar and 200# of weight from highschool. the only machine I see is a pull down.

It seems like a good price if its in good condition. If he has 300lbs in weight, that alone will be worth the money.

edit: a system like that would run around 500.00 and the weight around 100.00 in his area assuming he bought new and not on close out.

I live in Aransas Pass about 20 miles north east of Corpus Christi.

I went ahead and bought this.

    http://www.academy.com/index.php?pa...home_gyms&start=0&selectedSKU=0415-01292-1004

I figured after gas to victoria and back 70 miles each way id break even. Plus I have 210 # of weight already. Ill go back to academy on friday and buy another 300# of weight for 140 bucks and then start shopping for a cage. Im not to sure how stable this "squat" rack it has is.
