I have about 6 weeks and need to be able to sprint 300m in 60 seconds. I've always been a hockey player, so the whole sprinting in shoes is a bit different. What kind of program do I need to start doing to be able to make my goal? I didn't post in F&N cause I never post in there.

IMO, train by doing intervals... but long intervals too. 300m can be a LONG way for someone to sprint who isn't trained for it. I ran the 400m in 52 seconds in highschool, and that is a long and hard race.

Mix in 55-100m intervals with 400m intervals along with times sprinting. You'll need more speed and endurance than I'm sure you have, if you're asking us about it. Basically just get to work on running.

I'm not sure yet. I just found out yesterday afternoon that I have the physical test in November. Got the call outta the blue. Haven't had the chance to train at all. The only exercise I've been doing this summer is playing ice hockey or golf.

Hill runs up and down but yeah 300m in 60secs is pretty easy to acheive with normal basic fitness level.

Seriously go and run the 300m now and get someone to time you. I bet you can do it in 60 or less, so no need to worry about specialist training.

You shouldn't be asking what you need to do when you don't know how much time you need to make up, if at all.
