Okay, some background information to help you out. I'm 18 and around 225 at 5'11. I don't know what bodyfat I truly have, but it is too high. I can see definition in my arms, forearms and legs. The main problem is my "gut". No matter what I've tried, I still can't drop it. Basically, I need to find some way to cut down on my bodyfat percentage. I am a boxer and tennis player, and quite like james toney, it's my fitness that's holding me back from winning consistently. I do the normal stuff, jumping rope, weight rotation, but no matter how much cardio I do, I can't seem to shave it off. I personally think that the problem is my diet. Oh, and the other problem is that I design and build loudspeakers for income to get money for school, so I happen to be quite creative and monotonous cardio machines just kill me. I want to take up running, but I can get shin splints really bad if I go at it for long enough. So, I pray to thee, help me out!

Oh, I also have hypertension and LVH from a eph/lipo 6 stack I did when I was 15, so I cannot take any metabolic enhancing supps.

I'll be first to say it....

    Read the stickies.

get your diet in check... www.fitday.com.

You are likely fat all over.

    Protein supplements.

weighttraining and cardio, and intake less calories than you expend.

as for shin splints, get real running shoes built for your foot, not chosen for style.

I guarantee you, I know all of this, I am asking for suggestions on new methods. I used to be in this forum everyday for about a year (15-16) before I had to stop taking supps and working out hard.

I'll check out the website though.

its not anymore complicated than that, and there arent any "super tricks"

use more calories than you eat, less fat in = less fat retention.

    sprint/jog/sprint/jog.

but at 5'11" 225 you should just worry about run run run.

Knowing isnt doing, now is it. :mamoru: .

If you "do everything", your diet isnt in check and you need to start tracking it and reducing calories and changing foods eaten as needed.

There is no new method anyone here can give you. You need to lift weights (see noquarters sticky), doing cardio (20-30 minutes minimum) and eating less than you expend (tracking religiously on a site like fitday.com)

You obviously don't fucking 'know it' or you wouldnt be asking retarded questions. If you're fat and your a boxer than your diet must be fucking terrible. And if you don't know how to clean up your diet and you don't want to read the stickies then just accept being fat.

Oh, and I hate to tell you, but you can be in amazing shape and still be a fatass, so getting lean will not necessarily help your fitness.

Well your and my definition may differ, but Chuck Lidell is getting pretty fat and he's probably in better shape than just about anyone here. Thats just one example. The point is that people who are in great shape tend to have low body fat because they expend a lot of energy, but a person could get in great shape and gain bodyfat at the same time. Having low bodyfat does not cause you to be in great shape, and having high bodyfat does not cause you to be in bad shape.
