Starting small, I have a curl bar so far (today). Where can I find a chart of everything I can do with it? It's got 50 on it right now, i can go get more weights but budget is limited until wife starts getting paid....

Yes I'm weak, fat, and slow. I can't do cardio all the time.

ALL pertinent advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I did search but there's LOTS of posts to go through that reference Curl and Bar.

    no gym for home.

    start with

    1) stickies re: diet for the fatness
    2) BW exercises (pushups, dips, pullups) to start working on eliminating weakness

put that curl bar away for good, doing curls wont do shit for you

see you in 6 months worth of dieting

Down 20 from 250 in three months. Not fast enough. Still looking at stickies. Will check out fitday.

Thanks, I just woke up a few months ago and realized I had a wife, two kids, and looked like I was smuggling a half keg around. I was 190 and a size 34 when I got out of the USAF, I would settle for 195-200 in a 36 waist - would end up being a little loose. I just want it sooner rather than later. I gained it over time though.....

When I first started all I had was a curl bar and weights, I was able to do just about any barbells exercises except squats ... deadlifts, overhead presses, standing calf raises ... you just have to be creative. Good luck. :big grin:

Unless you have a few thousand $$$ to spend on proper equipment, and a warehouse/garage to store it, just spend the money to get a gym membership.

When I began almost two years ago I worked out at home for a year before joining a gym. I had a bench that would incline/decline, a curl bar, and a bunch of loose weights. I was able to create a 3 day split with no problems just using what I had. I was so scrawny I was too embarrassed to join the gym until I built up some muscle and learned how to lift weights :o

I used this site a lot....you can drill down on a muscle group or exercise and if gives you an animation showing the proper form.

anything worth doing can be done with a set of olympic weights and a back yard. Check out crossfit.com for lifting videos

hit up craigs list, college town garage sales during move out time, etc and pick up an olympic weight set and then a simple bench
