I work with Autocad alot at work, and a decent amount of Photoshop. I'm starting to work with 13-300mb images on a project...and my computer can't handle it. I wanted to get an opinion of those who do more photoshop/graphic design work to see what kind of machine they recommend, price is not too much of a concern.

I'm running a P4, 256mb video, 2gb ram, etc. and with 4gb of images...it can't hang. And I've heard macs are the way to go with intense graphic design, mainly what I'm doing is working with hi-resolution 2d aerial imagery in Photoshop...

Look forward to the opinions.

AutoCAD used to be PC only.

But it's been a while since I worked with it.

Wht don't you call the guys at Auto Desk and ask them?

Mac hardware may be the way to go. Since Macs use intel chips, you can run windows on them if you don't want to switch OS. Off the top of my head, I don't know of any other desktop PCs that can be equipped with 2 dual core CPUs and 16GB of ram like the mac. Although you could probably build a system yourself with similar specs.
