im going to look at a bike tonight... its a 96 honda cbr 600 with like 20k miles....

it has a corbin seat, hid, yosh exhaust... etc...

fell over on one side.. scratched up.

the normal questions im going to ask are...
    -maintnence?
--clutch discs been done? fork service? chain/tensioner?

I had a 95 f3 a couple years ago and loved it.. even though it turned out to be a piece of shit.... so im somewhat farmiliar with the bike.. but definitely still a novice...

what would you guys think the value of this bike would be?

also do you have any advice for other questions to ask or things to look at... besides the obvious making sure all the fairings line up, cracks, and what not.

Is that cheaper than just buying one once you get there?

yes and no... ive been watching craigslist/mauinews for a couple months and its is 99% dirtbikes/dual sports...

the ocassional sportbike in my price range is very rare... plus i need transportation as soon as i get there so knowing i would be able to ride it off the boat is a huge plus.

plus buying a bike over here on the mainland during winter is a huge plus because people usually need money for christmas and are willing to take a larger loss on their bike... whereas over there its always nice.. therefore the market always remains static

Maybe $1500? Just a guess; that's an old bike.

i paid 3k for my 96 at the start of last year with 10k miles. tipped in garage with minimal damage.

id say no more than 2k for that one at this time of year

bike turned out to be kind of a roach.... i wish people would be up front about damage if i specifically ask.... its not like i wont see all the cracked fairings, missing bolts...

also dude tried to say he didnt know the mileage??? like not even a clue... no record of ever doing the clutch and hes had it for 5 years or something?

also... tried to say the bike had dyno time but he doesnt know the numbers?

    bah... dude was shifty...

i offered 2200 cash (way more than it is worth) since it did run proper and had some cool guy gizmos... but he tried to tell me someone offered him 3k the other day and he wouldnt sell it to them because he didnt want them to get hurt on it? fucking lying sack of shit..

anyways.. if anyone knows of some bike for sale in the pnw.. lemme know

my price range is from $1-3000

"oh man my buddy got off his r1 and hopped on this thing... grabbed a handful of throttle and had the tire up over his head before he knew it.."

    fucking whatever buddy.
