    Hi all.

I'm 22, and work full time, while going to school full time. I currently have a 1998 Chevy S10 Blazer LS (2 door) - i have had it for 4 years. It has around 150,000 miles, and its in bad shape - keep putting money into it - lots of money - $300 for brakes, transmission troubles, etc.

The blazer needs a few grand in work for it to run right again, and i don't have the time or money for it.

I have kept it this long because it was my first car with a true sound system in it. I have all nice equipment (Adire Audio, Stryke Audio, Ampman Revolution 1500D amp, 90sq ft of dynamat extreme). The system is well known among my friends.

I have a very nice job, But i do not want to buy a new car. I want to buy a car for cheap that will last me another few years.

But I like quality and style. I have always had American cars (My dad is a car expert from back in the 70's when all he had was American cars) - I want an import, something that won't break down every 3 months.

I am looking at a Subaru WRX - but i want some other options for used cars that have affordable repair costs, and yet still sporty enough to justify tricking it out (I hate those kids who put a nice system in an otherwise stock Pontiac Grand-AM)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions - my price range is anything up to $13,000

Thats what i thought. Now the question is

Should i get a newer WRX with low mileage, but more money,

Or do I purchase a older (2002 or 2003) WRX with more miles but cheaper price?

I'm not the typical poor college student though, Last year i made around $23k part time while full time at college, this year i'm going full time work, part time college.

    Thanks for the help.

Any other advice on buying a subaru? Is ebay a bad place to shop for one? (even if you have it taken to a shop to be examined?)
