I am thinking of getting rid of the current ride, and have had my eye on the Jaguar XKR Silverstone Edition 2001.

I have heard of issues with Jag's and was curious if there would be anything I should look out for since it will be used. (Only year I believe they made Silverstone?!?!)

Thanks for the input guys. And a pic:

Well, the benefit to the 2001 XKR Silverstone is I can get one for around 45k with low miles. My broker has found one for me, but I was curious if there is anything specific that I should look for while driving or inspecting minus the obvious things.

    Thanks.

In spite of the obvious Jaguar/Ford correlations and comments (which I have myself been guilty of in the past), I love this car. Classiest thing available on our shores this side of an Aston Martin IMHO. And the R moves.

I don't know anything about its reliability, but who cares. If you can justify the expense and the potential for costly repair when/if necessary, I say go for it!

Yes that is the same car. I believe that woud be a test car of some sort. Most sports car companies do field tests on thier cars then trash them. They do not sell them.

They dont have alot of headroom and the backseat is a joke. Im 6 ft 2 and my head would rub against the roof. good power though.

My fathers boss has one. My main complaint is the poor ride on the 20's, although that is in part due to the poor quality of the UK road network. The last time I was in it it suffered from a fair amount of scuttle shake as well, even when just cruising along.

Also the interior does look fairly plain and dated for a car of its status and price tag.

Not a personal favourite of mine, I would choose an old shape Merc SL over an XK.
