What's the best lens to use? for prom shots (i've never really shot portraits/ groups of people.

    I have a 50mm prime
    kit lens
    tam. 28-75 f.28
    and a tam 38-300

of course, ill have my 430 ex on.

    thanks in advance!

    Tamron 28-75 FTW

Almost as sharp as the 50 and you can crank it out to like 70 for the portraits and dropper back to 28 to get the group shots. Anyone that tells you to go with a different lens doesn't know what the fuck they are talking about

For group shots, please don't line them all up shoulder to shoulder. Take pictures of them hanging out and doing normal stuff.

assuming the 50 1.8 there is no reason to use it over the tamron. if you have the 1.4, it might be cool to take a few at f/2 for the dof, but i would stick with the tamron mostly
