Needs to be a pickup...preferably mid-size, 4 cyl or 6 cyl, that gets pretty good gas mileage (my current truck gets 14-16), and is pretty reliable. I would like extended cab and 4wd...but i can live without. I would prefer something that is at least semi fun to drive. It also needs to be cheap...real cheap, like under $7k cheap.

I know that's a lot of requirements for such a small amount of money. But i will be flexible. Gas mileage, reliability, and whether or not i am going to hate driving it are the main concerns...other than price and it has to be a p/u.

    What are my options?

might look into the early 90s Nissan hardbodies or Toyota "pickups".

You want 4 wheel drive? You could probably find a Chevy ZR2 for 6-7k

I'm guessing by your av and username you have a zr2...what kind of gas mileage do they get? And what is it the 4.3 v6?

Yes it has the 4.3 v6. they get crap for milage, like 16-18. Great trucks as long as you dont modify them. I lifted mine and put it on 35s, and now i really regret that.

Also, my bro used to have a 95 ranger, 4.0, 5 spd, 4x4. Only problem he had with it was the automatic hubs. If you get one, you'll have to do the warn manual hub swap. Other than that it was a good solid truck.

im not sure, he bought a ZR2 after he wrecked the Ranger, he mentioned the ranger got way better milage. The ZR2s get like 15 or so... i'd imagine the rager got 18-20ish.
