Internet has been going on and off at the house for the past few weeks so they sent a tech out to fix it. He checked the modem and then said he needed to use the internet to check the modem history and opened IE .. I have never used it on this computer, but it immediately popped up an ad..

Anyway, it seems to have opened the floodgate of crap and now I get IE pop ups, and I cant seem to access ALOT of pages on the internet.. some pages are accessable, but when I try to log into them, it just hangs ( hotmail, gmail, myspace, etc. ) I can't even complete a google search to figure out what the problem is or to download anything that might fix it.

Ive recently un-installed my anti-virus and cleaned the registry with CCleaner and installed and run Spybot but I'm not sure where else to go/what to download from here. If anyone has any suggestions or direct links a program to download that might help, please suggest away :hs: I know its this computer and not the connection because the laptop works just fine.

    Wirelessly posted via wap.offtopic.com (Mozilla/2.0 (compatible; MSIE 3.02; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320) BlackBerry8703e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Sounds like some sort of malware like adware or even a virus. I'd install adaware or some other anti-spyware app. There are some free anti-virus progs too, but I'm blanking on the name.
