did some damage to the magazine tube on my remington 870, anyone know where it could be sent for repairs? or is it not really worth the cost?

they seem to contract out to regional gunsmiths who charge an arm and a leg.

Out of curiosity, what sort of damage? Running an extension tube without a clamp and strip the threads?

My understanding is if you screw up the mag tube the gun has to go back to remington to have a new mag tube brazed in and the gun refinished. Have you actually contacted remington?
