I have been looking recently to purchasing my first piece. I plan on taking the Concealed Weapons-Firearms class this weekend at the local gun expo coming to my area. I have been looking at the Ruger SR-9. I was told they can be great guns, but are a bitch to "break-in". Supposedly these things have a bad rep for jamming when new consistently, and I have read this from numerous different websites. I have also been reading up on the Sig Sauer P250, but have also considered others as well. Any good advise you guys can give before this weekend??? What other manufacturers should I consider??? Beretta?? Glock???

That is going to be my thing next week. I really dont plan on carrying it on me all the times, mostly just in its case to and from the range. Just trying to pick up a new hobby with some of my friends.

So HOW BAD is the ruger???

glock and sig are both good choices

the only ruger i'd own is the LCP (conceal carry not a range gun)
or the newish ruger revolver j frame can't remember the model name (also conceal carry not a range gun)

    other than that fuck ruger

and i like my beretta but for the money it's probably a better idea to go with a lighter weapon of the same caliber like a glock or sig is pretty damn good shit

I really like my P250. It's DA only though so if you can rent it and shoot it to see if you will like that. Other than a long pull it's smooth as butta. :coold:

If you're smart, you won't look at anything besides Glock. According to WMD, there is nothing else made that would even warrant consideration. Anything other than Glock is shit and anyone who talks about anything other than Glock is a dumbass loser who doesn't know anything and doesn't deserve to participate in WMD discussions.

    FYI

and mk i, mk ii, mkiii and the 22/45

  16. Basically all of Ruger's rimfire stuff is good, and their bolt guns are decent. They make a good (if heavy) revolver too. Pretty much it's just their autoloading centerfire handguns that suck.

    I love mine :dunno:
There were some issues with others guns but Sig has been fixing them.
    Try
    www.sigforum.com
100+ page thread on the P250. No issues with mine after nearly 500 rounds (not enough :o)

I'd get a glock, xd, smith and wesson (except sigma), or walther.

You can get use Sigs/CZ's/M&P's and a lot of other cool guns for what you will probably pay for the two pistols you mentioned. Personally I'd much rather go that route (and usually do).

I just put my 2,000ish bullet down the pipe of my p250.

It gave me issues for the first 200ish shots not ejecting or not feeding right, but since then it has been wonderful. I was considering using it for my carry gun here pretty soon, but I'm a smaller guy and it is a fairly thick gun.

Another thing I also wonder about is would I have been happier getting a glock instead of the p250.
