My friend just bought an 85 Caprice Classic. Three belts came off the other day but it looks like there's room for a fourth belt.

How many belts are there in the engine and can someone find me a diagram to look at?

Also how hard is it to reattach the belts. They're all intact still with the exception of one belt. May need to be replaced but it looks usable still.

I'm 90% positive the Caprice was running v-belts, in which case you'll probably have no more than 2 accessories on each belt. (crank-alternator/water pump) So probobly 2 belts, with an accessory out on a swing to tension the v-belt. (1 belt from crank to waterpump & fan to alternator, and one to A/C from crank.)

Get some pictures, post them here.

At worst, *TRY* a parts store and see what they're computer comes up with. Parts stores generally have a cheap $15 or so Haynes manual you can buy. (Kragen/Checkers/Autozone)
