Okay, so it seems my GeForce that came with my Dell has burnt out. The system itself is about 4 years old. I am looking for something a touch better then what I had, but I am unsure of the requirements and motherboard etc.

My system is a PIII 1 gig with 256 megs of ram. The video card that burnt out is a 64meg Nvedia GeForce 2 (or something).

What would be a good choice for a card that WILL WORK on my system. Looking to spend no more then 75$. Thanks!

for $75, your not gonig to get a card thats much better than the geforce2.

should be able to get a radeon 9550 for around that price.

I don't need it brand new...even used would be fine if it works. I mean...should I have to worry about my system and certain video cards working properly togeather? Kinda like are there system requirements for newer and better cards?

A GeForce4 Ti4200 would be a good bet. They are around $80, and are quite fast.

You can get one from www.pricewatch.com .

FYI: The 9550's are good, but it's like playing russian roulette. Certain ones have 64-bit memory, and other's have the good 'ol 128-bit stuff.

you have a p3 with a 133mhz fsb and 256mb ram.... it doesn't matter what card you get, your system will suck for gaming.

grab an mx4000 and call it a night.
