OK.. I work at a machine shop and im the only mechanical drafter there. My boss gave me a new job. He wants me to design something or somethings that appeals to people like me. The first thing I thought of was something for my car. Anything anyone would like to be custom made for their car.. it doesnt even have to be something for a car.. Parameters: it has to be aluminum and can be anodized any color or high polished

I don't know how advanced your software is and how advanced you are. It sounds to me that you are a beginner. I would start with something simple. Go for like engine dress up parts... If you have a DOHC motor make a spark plug cover and cut some cool design out? make "caps" that cover up the P/S resivour or clutch res.

Oh ok then what software do you use to design on then?

    Auto-cad
    Cadkey
    Uni-Graphics
    Pro-Engineer

    Other?

Ok then i would look in to a "solid" mount kit if one is not allready avilable. Ummm... Billit stuff allwys sells. design a suspension part and make is usable out of aluminum so that you can take weight out of the car?

Oh, how i loath mastercam...somtimes it REALLY fucks up the tool paths. Well, at least it did on the older versions, i havent worked with it in about 14 months, so it may have changed, but beyond a 3 axis mill, it gets all funky.

What type of mills have you got avliable to you?
That would help give an idea of whats really feasable.
