I'm thinking 2 12w7s, but I don't know what amp and headunit to get. Could you guys recommend me some, because I don't know too much about car audio. Thanks.

give us the vehicle they are going in and your budget. There are many better choices than W7's based upon differing factors.

Also you might want to upgrade your front speakers too for a proper audiophile level system

It's going to be in a 4-door explorer, and I have about $3,000 to put into it. I'm looking for something with really loud bass, but still having good sound quality.

    u can do a lot with 3k

    demo stuff if possible

perhaps something by RE may be a good choice as opposed to those JLs, not sure

this leaves money for a nice-ass fitting box for your trunk, wiring, deadening and some labor costs. This setup will pound the LIVING HELL out of your car and sound good .

i don't exactly know 'who' makes powerbass amps but they make rated power and are popular on the circuit right now since they won't rape the bank.
    internals are nice too

The owner of Audioque is the Uncle of the owner of Digital Designs. Share parts and knowledge

you can go with either a 1000/1 or two 1000/1s for the w7s. two amps would be perfect but would put you over your budget. For decks, I like the new pioneer 880 a lot. The Eclipse 5000 is nice but its a pita to use.

for daily use, i don't typically recommend what people on the "circuit" are using. I've had many a dissapointed customer because the 3000 watt amp that such and such was using to burp 150+ dB that said customer has in his car keeps cutting out from over abuse, not enough current, etc.etc.

    For 3k, i'd look into Orion http://www.orioncaraudio.com/default.asp
I personally use the P6.2 components. And have done many installs using the H2 subs.

    Kenwood KDC-X789 = ~275-400
    Orion P6.2 = ~300
    Orion C573 = ~80
    Orion HP-4800 = ~350
    Orion HCCA-D5000 = ~1200-1400
    Orion H2 15's = ~1000

shit I'm over after install......but that would be really fucking loud!

    edit: prices estimated from pricegrabber

They also do well daily n00bx ;)... all the stuff listed. And it'd pwn the shit out of the Orion stuff...

Plus, I can get the HCCAd5000's for around $650 BNIB with warranty ;).

I'll have to second pharcyde's recommendations...

I'm not really sure about the component amp. Memphis is good stuff and I was trying to find something that was similiar in color to the powerbass amp. Couldn't really find anything else... but the memphis amp is nice

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: just like the mark antony amps one of my customers used that melted down after 2 hours on the street. they were also "hot on the circuit." Oh, and I doubt it'll own that hard. And since you're an Orion dealer and all

ever since Marc Antony got bought out the amps have been shit. The old ones were pretty decent. The powerbass amps have no problems with low voltages and still see a good [email protected] at low voltage
