but not sure on the reliable part. well you knocked out the 2 cars that could have been good picks, so here is another choice look at the miata. Its cheap, reliable and can be made fast cheap. and not every ricer has one. Another choice would be a eclipse gsx or a 240sx. hmm whatelse thats all i can think of at the moment oh ya maybe a older 300z

for 1 under a 15 is generally not 'fast' by automtoive standards

10 gs is a lot options i wouldnt get an M3 for that though, maybe if ur budget was like 18k

u could probably do decent with a camaro in that price range.

well as for the miata, you can get a decent used one for a few grand, my buddy actually bought one for 1800, you can buy a new engine or have one built for your specs for probably 2-3grand on the higher side or can buy a used oem engine and tranny for around 1000. If you like FI then you can go either the turbo or supercharged route. A greddy kit for a 91-93 i think runs like 1200 plus intercooler, and a jackson racing s/c is around 2500. Add some suspension for less than a 1000 and some rims and you can have a very potent car for around 10grand. Also if you want to get daring you can build yourself a monster miata and put in a ls1 or 302 in the car. By the way a miata that weighs around 2200lbs and has 200-230whp is pretty damn fast and it will handle like a go cart. Just a thought though, not too many peopel modify miata due to the image but they are missing out. Ome of the best bang for the buck sports cars out there i think so. Plus its a drop top.
