I just bought the Sony CRX830E cd-r/rw/dvd-rom drive for my Pismo and it isn't recognized by iTunes to do burning. I can do everything else but burn. I now realize I need the drivers installed but don't know where to get them. I've tried google, apple and sony but haven't found anything yet.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

sony usually comes with a cd burning package such as NTI cd maker. Install it.

you MUST install it to get the drivers. And if you didn't get the CD then I'd call who you bought it from to get one. If they wont give you it, then go to the store and buy Nero or something. you have to have something because that's what includes the drivers.

nope, no disk. I got it for $65 instead of $200 so thats probably why it didn't come with a disk.

surely the drivers are somewhere, just keep plugging at google, or go to sites like xlr8yourmac.com and see what they say about the drive. :dunno:

a friend at work just told me about a program called Patch Burn. It overwrites the current driver with a new one. I just ran it and now it works!
