    I need a basic way of making different footers, headers, etc. I have Frontpage 2003, and a website. I basically make each page one by one with no footers and headers. How do you make it if you change a link in your footer/header, that all your pages in your website will be affected, not just one. I basically just change each link on every page, individually. Please if someone can give me a brief summary on how to do this. :sadwavey:

    server side includes

    you'll need .shtml or .asp pages to make it work.
    the command looks somthing like this
    Code:
    <!--#include virtual="footer.txt" -->
    with that in all your pages you just need to update the contents of the footer file and it will reflect on all pages.

    html alone will not achieve what you wish to acomplish.

    or

    Do us a favor, don't use either above and find yourself a new authoring program. Frontpage has an overwhelming tendency to put crap in its code that the rest of the world does not care nor want to know about.

    :werd: ez4me2c3d had the right solution. Server-side includes are the way to go. If you are using ASP or PHP or ColdFusion, or some other scripting language to make your pages, they also have methods for including files.
