really? hmmm was doing some more research and it looks like it could have possibly come from the japanese. Someone on another message board said this about it

"I am almost certain that this is a Japanese naval military ribbon. There are no ribbons with both the Rising Sun and Stars & Stripes awarded in the US military. I have come across some ribbons from Japan after the WWII occupation that have the shared flags with Japan's being on the left. Also if this was a ribbon from the US, the American flag would be located on the left side instead of the right."

I remember our last Class A inspection after we redeployed back to the States. I went to usamilitarymedals.com and bought a whole rack with every ribbon in the proper order. All I had to do was correctly place it on my uniform after it arrived in the mail. It even had the devices placed exactly where they should be.

That's the kind of shit I'm talking about. It shouldn't be allowed. If you're in the military and need to buy new medals, you can go down to the exchange and buy them after showing your military ID.
