i guess the best way to describe them is elastic keepers, or even silencers. they go on slings that attach to rifles via H&K style snaphooks.

the following photos highlight what i mean:

They have elastic like that at Micheals and probly just about any other craft store. Personally I would ditch the single point and go with a 2 or 3 point side mount.

i will be using a 2 point sling, the rear is attached by the snaphook, the front by a push button swivel

I was out on a manuever once with a single point, man that thing is terrible, it's nothing more than a swinging pendulum, I'm tellin you that weapon banged itself on everything possible that day, including my nuts, knees, rocks, side of a vehicle, the flash suppressor looked 20 years old after the day was over.

I dont know man, id just go to a crafts store and walk the isles, they have to have something that could be formative, other than that I bet SOG armory has some laying around that they put on their singlepoints.

Wait, you know what would work great, buy an innertube for one of those 10 speed bikes that the guys in the freak shorts ride, just cut a section out and stretch it over the piece you want protected, I bet that would actually work pretty great for a 3 dollar innertube.
